Canon History

1970 – 1980
Canon Business Solutions began as four independently operated office equipment
companies marketing the Canon brand in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

1980 – 1990
During the Eighties, Canon was setting new industry standards for black-and-white, color, and fax technology. By the end of the decade, all four independent sales companies had been purchased by Canon U.S.A. and comprised the foundation of the Canon Sales Subsidiary Division.

2000 – present
In 2000, the names of each company changed to Canon Business Solutions in order to clarify their status to customers as a Canon U.S.A. Company. Coinciding with the name change was a national expansion to many of the top metropolitan regions within the United States.

In 2003, the New York and Philadelphia subsidiary companies integrated to combine strengths and grow throughout the East Coast, while the Central and West companies continued to grow within their regions.

In 2007, the three Canon Business Solutions companies came together as one nationwide company providing sales, service and support of Canon’s document management technology. Today, we have offices in most major metropolitan areas, and we continue to expand into cities where companies may benefit from working directly with a Canon U.S.A. sales subsidiary.
